Watercolor series exploring the deep interconnectedness between nature, spirit, and human consciousness. Through delicate yet vibrant compositions, organic forms merge with ethereal elements, creating a space where animals, plants, and the unseen energies of existence intertwine. Figures emerge from or dissolve into feathers, leaves, and blossoms, evoking a sense of harmony and transformation, inspired by the idea that energy, like life, is constantly shifting.
Watercolor, with its fluidity and unpredictability, becomes an extension of this exploration. The medium’s translucency echoes the fleeting, intangible nature of spirit, while its layered pigments capture the complexity of memory, presence, and connection. Ánimas invites viewers to contemplate the subtle forces that connect all living beings.
Tonal is a series of illustrations created for children, drawing from the indigenous cosmogony of the Toltec and Huichol traditions. Each piece represents an animal spirit, a guardian embodying qualities such as wisdom, strength, and a deep connection to nature. Rooted in the Toltec concepts of Tonal and Nagual, these beings symbolize the interplay between the visible and invisible forces that shape existence.
At the heart of each Tonal is an Ojo de Dios, a sacred Huichol amulet traditionally woven for children as a blessing for growth and protection. In Huichol culture, these amulets are given at birth and added to each year until the child turns five, forming a symbolic tree of life. Inspired by this tradition, the Tonal series serves as a contemporary reinterpretation of these ancestral guardians. Each illustration functions as a protective talisman, with an adult assigning it a unique meaning or virtue before gifting it to a child, a gesture of guidance, intention, and care.

Garden of Musings is a collection of digital illustrations that emerge from the quiet dialogue between the forest and the artist. Each piece is a visual note, a record of fleeting impressions gathered on long walks, whispers of movement, shifting light, and the unseen forces that shape perception. The series explores the language of the invisible, tracing the delicate boundary between the tangible and the ephemeral.
By engaging both digital and traditional techniques, the work examines the fluid conversation between mediums, where hand-drawn lines and digital textures converge. It invites a contemplative experience, where nature is not merely observed but felt as a living, breathing presence beyond what the eye can see.
